    Here's a look at upcoming programs and events at city and county public, private and faith-based schools:



    • Thursday – Poplar Springs Elementary School Thanksgiving Lunch. Students in first, second and fourth grades will invite family members to eat Thanksgiving lunch at assigned times.

    • Thursday – Magnolia Middle School Thanksgiving Lunch (sixth grade), from 11:15 a.m.-11:45 a.m.

     • Thursday – Northwest Middle School PTO Meeting, 6 p.m., auditorium

    • Friday – Oakland Heights Elementary School Pickle and Pop Celebration, from 1 p.m.-2 p.m. For students who scored "Advanced" and "Proficient" on the first nine weeks Common Assessments.

    • Friday – Poplar Springs Elementary School Field Trip. Fourth and fifth grades) students will attend production of "Pocahontas" at the MSU Riley Center.

    • Nov. 12-15 – Community and Business Development Class: Distribution Training, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

     • Nov. 12 – Veterans Day Program, 11 a.m., Graham Gymnasium. FMI: Angela Payne, (601) 481-1357.

     • Nov. 12-16 – Community and Business Development Class: Microsoft Excel (Advanced), from 9:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m., Webb Hall. FMI: (601) 484-8856.

     • Nov. 13 – MCC Foundation Annual Membership Celebration, 6:30 p.m., Northwood Country Club. FMI: Kathy Brookshire, (601) 484-8612.

    • Nov. 16 – Community and Business Development Class: ForkliftTraining, from 8 a.m.-6 p.m., Workforce Development Center.

 

    Here's a look at upcoming programs and events at East Central Community College:



    • Nov. 12 – Preregistration opens for all students, including current and incoming. The registration will continue through Dec. 7.
