    Here's a look at upcoming programs and events and city and county public, private and faith-based schools:



    • Sept. 20 –  Poplar Springs Elementary second grade visits MCC’s "Bits and Pieces Puppet Theatre," 9:30 a.m. Students will learn about Aesop's Dinosaur Fables.

      • Sept. 24 – Crestwood Elementary School Picture Day, cafeteria

    • Sept. 26 – Crestwood Elementary School Accelerated Reader Celebration Carnival, from 1:15 p.m.- 2: 15 p.m.

    • Sept. 26 – Poplar Springs Elementary Student Council Installation, 9 a.m., PSE Auditorium



    Here's a look at upcoming programs and events at Meridian Community College:



    • Thursday – Continuing Education class: Crash Course in Piano, 6 p.m. MCC. FMI: Joy Smith, (601) 484-8856.

    • Sept. 22 – Continuing Education class: Street Defensive Driving, from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Workforce Development Center. FMI: (601) 482-7445.

     • Sept. 24-Nov. 19 – Continuing Education class: APICS CPIM Certification Review Course, Execution and Control of Operations, from 8 a.m.-4 p.m. (class meets on Mondays),  Webb Hall Room 129. FMI: (601) 484-8724.

     • Sept. 25 – Continuing Education class: Publisher/Power Point, from 9 a.m.-4 p.m., MCC. FMI: Joy Smith, (601) 484-885.

     • Sept. 27 – Continuing Education class: Ebay, Getting Ready for Christmas, 5:30 p.m., MCC Webb Hall. FMI: Joy Smith, (601) 484-8856.



    Here's a look at upcoming programs and events at East Central Community College, Decatur:



    • Thursday – "Be Our Guest Night." Area high school students will be special guests of East Central Community College when the Warriors battle Southwest Mississippi Community College on the Decatur campus. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. at Bailey Stadium.
