Marguerite Roughley Bass

ANDERSON, Ind. —     Services for Marguerite (McKay) Roughley Bass will be held Saturday, at 11:30 a.m., at Robert D. Loose Funeral Home. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery-Anderson, with Robert D. Loose Funeral Home, 200 W. 53rd Street, Anderson, Ind., in charge of arrangements.

    Mrs. Bass passed peacefully on Wednesday, Jan. 11, 2012, with her family by her side. She was born to Cleve and Ethel McKay on Sept. 23, 1917, in Lapel, Ind. She lived in Anderson until retiring from South Central Bell. Marguerite then moved to Port Richey, Fla., where she was honored as a volunteer for the CARES Organization. She lived in Meridian, Miss. for the last 10 years. Marguerite was a member of the Episcopal Church. She will be remembered by her family and friends for her quiet, gentle and loving spirit.

    Marguerite is survived by her daughters: Rebecca Garland (John Dugger) of Indianapolis, and Deborah Hamm of Meridian, Miss.; step-son, Michael (Susan) Bass of Bartlesville, Okla.; grandchildren: Gabrielle Garland, Jodi (Jonathan) Klocek, Jon (Chris) Hamm, Genni (Michael) Robertson, and Edward Bass;  great-grandchildren: Daliah Gleicher, Shai and Holdan Robertson, Will, Cade, and Caroline Hamm, and Lila Klocek; sister-in-law, Faye McKay; niece, Karen (John) Carter; and nephew, Anthony (Kathy) Lakas.

    She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands: Albert William Roughley and Norman K. Bass; brother, Phillip McKay; sister, Virgina (Russell) Richardson; son, Samuel Roughley; and son-in-law, Michael Hamm.

    Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of choice.

    Visitation will be Saturday, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m., at the funeral home.
