  • The Moving Feast

       Spring is here. I know this, not because of the calendar but, because pine pollen is blowing across the roads in thick, billowing yellow clouds. It’s thick this year, and is possibly the most pollen I’ve seen since Hurricane Katrina wiped out a good portion of our pine forest.

       While recent national press attention to ongoing problems at Mississippi’s G.V. (Sonny) Montgomery Veterans Administration Medical Center in Jackson is welcome and needed, the failures of the overall VA service apparatus in Mississippi are not recent problems.

        1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?”  Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, 2012, and 2013 has been met.  Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually.  Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.

  • The Beauteous Bowling Babes

       The Beauteous Bowling Babes team made it to the final playoff, and it was looking good. All eight team members were in the prime of their bowling expertise. The workouts were teeth-gnashing and muscle-bruising, but so-o-o worth it, however, the powdering, polishing, and primping was the real secret of their success.
