MERIDIAN —
1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns seven circumstances. The first need is a lady in her early forties laid off by her employer. She had been working for this employer for the last eight years. She has always worked to provide for herself and has never asked for help before. She has no family to turn to for help. With $627.65 we can provide rent and utilities as she starts a new job.
The second need is a man in his fifties having surgery for multiple health problems. He will have to miss several weeks of work to have this necessary surgery. He is worried that upon returning home from the hospital his utilities will be turned off. With $370.56 we can provide utilities so this man can recover in his house with utilities.
The third need is a man in his is sixties who has worked full time his entire life. He never thought he would find himself at this point in a financial crisis. He could hardly bring himself to ask for help. With $344.85 we can provide utilities to help this man return to financial security.
The fourth need is a young couple in their twenties with a newborn baby. The wife is working part time and going to college. The husband was just laid off and hopes to begin a new job right away. They are worried as a young couple with a newborn baby about becoming homeless. With $560 we can provide rent and utilities for this young couple and newborn baby.
The fifth need is a mother in her late twenties. This mother has always been very independent but had to ask for help for the first time since she has no family to turn to. She finds herself physically and financially drained as a single parent holding down several jobs at one time. With $154.14 we can provide utilities for this hard working mother.
The sixth need is a mother in her thirties with three children. She had surgery last month, and some complications afterwards caused her to miss several weeks of work. She is back at work, but the missed income has her behind on several bills. With $627.71 we can provide rent and utilities for this mother as she continues to recover and work hard.
The seventh need is a lady in her fifties with two jobs. She had unexpected expenses this month when she became sick and was prescribed several necessary medications she could not afford. With $350.18 we can provide the medications to help her heal. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
