MERIDIAN —
1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically,
financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns six circumstances. The first need is a couple in their early thirties with two children. The husband has been through several health issues lately causing the family financial disaster. Missing work has made the family dependent on the wife’s income alone. The husband has gained his health back and is returning to work. With $485.34 we can keep their utilities on while they regain health and financial stability.
The second need is a lady in her sixties helping take care of her sick mother. She actually chose to pay her mother’s bills over her own. She walked into a dark house upon returning home because her utilities had been cut off. With $275.81 we can provide utilities for someone who has been putting others’ needs before her own.
The third need is a mother in her early forties with two children. The husband has left the family with many bills and no financial help. This mother is determined to give her children the necessities of life. With $372.07 we can provide rent and utilities for this mother trying to piece her life back together.
The fourth need is a man in his late sixties who recently moved back to Meridian to be closer to family members. He has found financial hardship as a result of not being able to locate a new job in a timely manner. With $157.22 we can provide utilities for him while he starts a new job.
The fifth need is a mother in her thirties with one child. It has been verified through police reports that she was robbed by gunpoint as she was leaving her second job. Her purse containing her utility payments for the month was taken. With $166.34 we can help this victimized mother pay her utilities.
The sixth need is a mother in her forties with two children. She has missed several days of work to remain by her mother’s side after her mother was diagnosed with cancer. She felt it was her obligation, regardless of finances, not to leave her mother alone to figure out the next steps of battling cancer. With $1,023 we can provide mortgage payments allowing the family to stay in their home while they fight cancer together as a family. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
