MERIDIAN —
1 JOHN 3:17 - “If anyone has material possessions and sees his brother in need but has not pity on him, how can the love of God be in him?” Praise belongs to God as every need in 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012 has been met. Thanks to everyone who has generously given over the years to change lives physically, financially, and spiritually. Each week I stand in awe of God as I witness God’s provision in our lives.
Today’s need concerns six circumstances. The first need is a father with two teenage children. He is doing all he can to make ends meet. Extra expenses this month left him in a financial bind. With $263.72 we can help with utility bills as he continues to work hard to provide a good life for his children.
The second need a young lady in her twenties going to college full time. She worked with her employer before signing up for classes to work different hours so she can fulfill her dream of going to college. Once starting school the employer claimed those hours were no longer needed. With $551.92 we can help this young lady keep her dream alive as she finds a new job and continues going to college
The third need is a lady in her fifties with no family to turn to for help. She works all the hours she can to provide for her needs. Her hours were recently reduced at work cutting her paycheck significantly. She is currently looking for a second job. With $510.00 we can provide for her utilities and mortgage as she continues to work hard.
The fourth need is a mother in her thirties with three children. She is currently on medical leave from her job for surgery. She ended up having infections from her surgery causing her to miss more work than expected. She is back at work but worried her utilities are going to be cut off. With $505.03 we can help her with utilities and medical cost as she recovers.
The fifth need is a mother in her thirties with two children. The company she works for has not had enough work and has cut her hours. Her reduced steady income has caused her unforeseen financial trouble. With $443.17 we can provide utilities for this mother and two children.
The sixth need is a couple in their fifties who have never asked for help. The husband has been in the hospital and unable to work. They are trying their best to make it solely on the wife’s income. With $565.61 we can provide rent and utilities as the husband returns to work. Thank you for allowing God to show provision for these needs through your prayers and giving.
For your information- Any story I write will be after an individual has been checked out through the Wesley House Clearing Procedure. Each individual must bring proof of I.D., pay stubs, tax records, and a social security number for each member of the household. In addition, any child over 18 must provide income information, copies of any outgoing bills, and proof of any subsidy such as food stamps, housing allowance, etc. There is an extensive application that proves who the people are and the situation they face. Phone calls are placed to verify employment and information provided. The money you give will go in full to the individual if you decide to help. God is so good, and thank you for being somebody God can use. Please pray for each story and see if God gives you the means to help. If God puts it on your heart, please do not use the excuse somebody else will take care of it because it might go undone.
