Dumont Plaza
• The Downtown — After Five Alive mini concert for Thursday, Oct. 4, will feature the Al Brown All-Stars, 5 p.m.-7:30 p.m., in Dumont Plaza. Food and drink vendors and attractions for kids will be on site. Admission is free.
Singing Brakeman Park
• Earth's Bounty, the fifth in a series of six farmer's market festivals in downtown Meridian, will be held Saturday, Oct. 6, in Singing Brakeman Park, on Front Street, next to Union Station, 8 a.m.-3 p.m.
Meridian Museum of Art
• 39th Annual Bi-State Art Competition Awards Reception will be held at the Meridian Museum of Art, Saturday, Oct. 6, 6 p.m.-8 p.m. The museum is located at 628 25th Ave.
Temple Theater
• The Mississippi Jamboree returns to the Temple Theater, 2320 Eighth St., at 7 p.m., featuring The Pearl River Band with tribute artists Sam Blankenship as Johnny Cash, Chuck Bryant as Waylon Jennings, and Susan Box as Patsy Cline. Tickets are $10. Call (601) 693-5353.
