By the time they signed with the Motown label in 1964, these four Detroit harmonizers— Levi Stubbs, "Obie" Benson, Lawrence Payton, and "Duke" Fakir — had been singing together for 10 years.
They kept recording well into the 1990s, with hits such as, "I Can’t Help Myself (Sugar Pie Honey Bunch)" and "Baby I Need Your Loving."
Today The Four Tops tour with the original member, "Duke" Fakir, and three additional singers who help keep the Motown sound alive.
