MERIDIAN —
Merle Haggard and Marty Stuart will perform at the MSU Riley Center tonight in a sold out performance presented by the Jimmie Rodgers Foundation.
The performance honors Jimmie Rodgers, and his legacy as a founding father of American music. Haggard organically synthesizes a variety of American roots music revered by old-time country music lovers and new generations alike.
Singer, songwriter, phenomenal musician, bandleader, historian and recipient of too many awards and accolades to list, he may well be the most well-rounded country talent ever to take the stage. Returning to the Riley Center stage, Philadelphian Marty Stuart is a champion of Jimmie Rodgers and Mississippi’s rich musical heritage in addition to being a four-time Grammy Award winner.
The concert begins at 7:30 p.m.
