MERIDIAN —

A Meridian man has been arrested in connection with the attempted strong armed robbery at a local convenience store Wednesday. MPD authorities said Robert Earl Mack, 45, is being held in the Lauderdale County Jail pending further action. No one was injured in the alleged incident. Mack reportedly tried to make off with the cash register in the store. A bystander intervened and Mack left empty handed. He was taken into custody minutes later by patrolmen with the MPD.
