The book "Railroads of Meridian" is a generously illustrated narrative that follows the evolution of dozens of separate railroads in Meridian and surrounding areas. There are only seven mega-size rail systems in the United States, three of which serve Meridian, still making it an important junction on one of the nation's four major transcontinental routes. The book is available at the Meridian Railroad Museum. Also this weekend the Norfolk Southern Exhibit Car will be part of the RailFest attractions.
