50th anniversary
Doris J. and Calvin Watson Jr. of Meridian were married on April 5, 1958. Their children will host a renewal of the wedding vows on April 19, 2008, at 5:30 p.m. at Central Baptist Church with the Rev. Odell Hopkins officiating. A reception will follow in the church fellowship hall. Their children include E. Charles Davis of Memphis, Tenn., Effie l. Lyles and her husband, Robert, of Jackson and William "Bill" Watson of Meridian. Mr. and Mrs. Watson have four grandchildren.
