David and Loretta Brown of Quitman will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception on Sunday, Nov. 15, 2009, at Living Word Church, located on North Jackson Street in Quitman. The event, which is scheduled from 2 p.m.-4 p.m., will be hosted by their children. The Browns were married on Nov. 20, 1959, in Meridian, by the Rev. S.D. Garrett. The couple has three children, David Alan Brown and his wife, Julie, Paul Brown and his wife, Janet, and Angela Waltman and her husband, B.J.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchildren. Mr. Brown retired after 26 years as manager of Kentucky Fried Chicken. Mrs. Brown has been a caregiver and homemaker. The couple requests no gifts.
