William and Betty Walters celebrated 50 years of marriage on Saturday, Aug. 29, 2009. The couple were married on Aug. 29, 1959 at the 1st Wesleyan Methodist Church in Tuscaloosa, Ala. A celebration of their anniversary was hosted by their three
children and families; Donna Brown of Gulfport, Carl Walters of Panama City, Fla., and Melissa Selmon of Montgomery, Ala., at their new home on Lake Mitchell near Clanton, Ala. Mr. Walters retired in 1999 after working for the Winn Dixie Corporation for 45 years; Mrs. Walters is a homemaker.
